Martha E. Brown Scholarship Award Application

The Bath Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering a $1000 award to a woman in Bath or a surrounding community, who is beyond high school graduation and is planning to work toward an advanced degree. Candidates usually have been women re-entering the workforce, or those desiring to return to college after a lapse of time since high school graduation, or those who may have completed some college credits and wish to finish a degree program. The award will be granted based on the applicant’s scholarship, financial need, citizenship, leadership and service. The selection committee is guided by AAUW’s mission statement: AAUW promotes equity for women through advocacy, education and research.

Applicants must also submit three letters of reference which should include unique qualifications you have for this award: one from a person in a supervisory position, one from an instructor (if possible), and one from an individual in the community, perhaps an employer. If applicable, please attach transcripts for any college courses that have been taken.

Finalists will be selected by a committee of AAUW members after reviewing applications. These finalists will be interviewed in late April to determine the final scholarship recipient.
